WASHINGTON - Nestle Prepared Foods Company, a Solon, Ohio,
importing firm, is voluntarily recalling approximately 47,000 pounds of
frozen chicken pot pie imported form Canada that may contain small
pieces of plastic and glass, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food
Safety and Inspection Service announced today.
The products subject to recall are 16 oz. packages of "Stouffer's
CHICKEN POT PIE." No other sizes or varieties of Stouffer's brand
products are affected by the recall. Each package bears the code "445"
inside the Canadian mark of inspection. The packages bear the UPC code
"13800-10635." Also included on each label is the production code
"4066VH,"followed by a letter (A-Z).
The pot pie was produced on March 6 and distributed to retail stores
nationwide.
The recall was initiated after the company reported to FSIS that it had
received consumer complaints. Anyone concerned about an injury from
consumption of the products should contact a physician.
Media with questions about the recall may contact Roz O'Hearn, company
media representative, at 440-264-5170. Consumers with questions about
the recall may contact the Nestle Consumer Services hotline, at
