KENLAKE FOODS ISSUES ALLERGY ALERT ON UNDECLARED WALNUTS IN PACKAGE

CINCINNATI, OH, – Kenlake
Foods of Murray, Kentucky recalled approximately 200 packages of 16-ounce
Kroger Pecan Pieces because the package may contain walnut halves and
pieces. Customers who are allergic or extremely sensitive to walnuts run
the risk of severe or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume
this product. The recalled Kroger Pecan Pieces have a “sell by” date of May 23 05 and were offered for sale in Kroger stores in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Louisiana and Texas. The recall also includes Dillon Stores in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma; Baker’s stores in Nebraska; Gerbes Stores in Missouri; Hilander stores in Illinois; Kessel stores in Michigan; and Owen’s and Pay Less stores in Indiana. The recall also includes King Soopers, Fry’s, and Smith’s stores, as well as Food 4 Less Stores in the Chicago area. The product is being removed from store shelves immediately. Kroger has not received any complaints of illness related to the product. Customers should return this product to the store for a full refund.
